GP Vacancy, 4-8 Sessions per week, flexible start date


Due to retirement, we are looking for a GP to join our friendly, flexible, forward thinking family at Links Medical Practice to help continue providing a high standard of care for our 8,500 patients. 


Links Medical Practice is located in the pleasant tree-lined surroundings of the old City Hospital site, with ample parking, close to the beach and city centre amenities.


We have an excellent team, including six GP partners, salaried GP, advanced nurse practitioner, pharmacist, and a very experienced practice nursing team. We are also an approved training practice which takes foundation doctors, GP trainees and medical students. We are co-located in our purpose-built premises with our health visiting and district nursing teams.


We pride ourselves in good communication within the whole practice team and have regular social activities, enjoyed by all.


Aberdeen is a vibrant, multicultural, cosmopolitan city with good local schools, two universities and the largest hospital campus on one site in Europe. There is easy access to many attractions in Grampian and the Highlands.  Outdoor activities include walking, climbing, skiing, cycling, surfing, plus the castle and whisky trails.

Nurse Practitioners

Mrs Louise Leggat (f)

Advanced Nurse Practitioner Louise Leggat has been a registered nurse for over 28 years working in a variety of setting throughout the years. She has studies up to masters level in subject including leadership, minor injuries, independent prescribing and advanced clinical skills.  Louise provides consultations for patients who have acute presentation of ailments and minor injuries which reduces the workload of the GPs allowing them to see people with chronic illnesses.  Louise also offers comprehensive telephone triage and clinical assessment service to patients, carers or/and relatives resulting in safe and appropriate clinical decision.

Sr Faye Carbis heads our highly qualified nursing team. The practice policy is to encourage a healthy lifestyle, and our nurses run many of the screening programs which can help to prevent ill health. If you are invited to attend for such tests, please try to attend, as this can prevent complications in later life. The Practice Nurses can be contacted on 0845 337 6340.


District Nurses provide care for those discharged from hospital and those who require home care. Their multifunctional role includes health promotion, teaching, rehabilitation and palliative care. In consultation with the doctors they can also refer patients to other community services such as physiotherapy and chiropody if required. 

District Nurses can be contacted on 01224 611077, Monday to Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm. There is an answer machine service so please leave your NAME and TELEPHONE NUMBER and one of the district nurses will contact you when she returns to the office.
